AN AGM
LIKE NO OTHER!

That’s the view of staff of the Guildhall in
Salisbury where the 49th AGM of the South Wilts Mencap Society took place
last Thursday, 23rd April. It is not just the numbers who attend but the
spirit of fun and enjoyment that local people with learning disabilities
bring to the occasion that makes it so
different.

South Wilts Mencap is celebrating its 50th
anniversary this year and more than 150 people turned up to the AGM that
over the last few years has become an annual celebration of the achievements
and activities of local people with learning disabilities.
On this occasion as well as the Chairman Greg Read’s and Treasurer Malcolm
Carver’s Reports and a report by Nigel Scott on the hugely successful fund
raising work of the Mencap Shop in Catherine Street, there were also
presentations of a number of awards:
