Testing the Edges at Salisbury Arts Centre:

A major event at the Arts Centre in November not only showcased the work of local disabled performers but also helped to plan the Arts Centre programme for the future. Presentations included the latest collaboration between Exeter House Special School and Sarum Orchestra presenting their version of Wagner’s Ring Cycle. The Motivarts film, described as “wonderfully uplifting and honest”, is written by a group of learning disabled people supported by professional artists, and has had great acclaim. Motivarts members also won special plaudits for the confidence and social skills they displayed in welcoming visitors to the Arts Centre for the “Testing the Edges “ Day.

The experience and feedback from the day is being used by the Arts Centre to plan their future programme including workshops for people with learning disabilities – we look forward to hearing all about it!
