The Big Care Debate: ![]()
The Learning Disability Coalition states:
"The Care Services Minister at the Department of
Health, Phil Hope, has stressed to us that he is very keen for people to get
involved in the Big Care Debate. This is your chance to have a say about the
future funding of social care.
It is important the Government hears that people with a learning disability
need good, high quality services."
The Big Care Debate is visiting close to us on
9th/10th October in
Bournemouth
Members of the public will be able to have their say on the reform of adult
care and support in England as the Big Care Debate Roadshow reaches the
south coast on Friday the 9th and Saturday the 10th of October.
The Roadshow offers members of the public the chance to join the Big Care
Debate and have their say on the reform options set out in the Government's
recently-published consultation document Shaping the Future of Care
Together.
People will be able to respond in a variety of ways. There will be a seating
area where people can watch information videos and talk to Big Care Debate
representatives, and a 1-2-1 area for those wishing to give their response
in private.
They can fill in the Big Care Questionnaire, or add their comments on this
website, via a touch screen computer system.
For those with less time to engage, there will be paper copies of the Big
Care Questionnaire, and public leaflets and postcards. These can be filled
in on the spot or taken away and posted later.
The roadshows are a key part of the Government’s plan to engage with a range
of stakeholders and citizens across England. This will help raise awareness
of the issues contained in the Green Paper, and allow people to have their
say on the major issues around reform of the adult care and support system
and the creation of a new National Care Service.
The roadshow will be set up between 10am and 6pm in Bournemouth's
Castlepoint Shopping Centre.
