A New Chairman for South Wilts Mencap

At the September meeting the South Wilts Mencap Committee were very sorry to receive the resignation of the Chairman Greg Read. President Richard Morgan expressed the feelings of all the Committee when he talked about the great job Greg has done in fighting the good cause, always putting our friends first, being concerned with good governance and looking always to the future. Greg had earned great affection from us all, he had shown great tolerance of different viewpoints, and there had been huge generosity from Greg himself and his wife Rosemary.

This was followed by a very warm welcome to John Walsh who was elected as the new Chairman by acclamation. John is well known to us for his tremendous help in organizing our annual new year party at Godolphin School over the last few years.
There will be an opportunity to say thank you properly to Greg later in the year.
