And remember we CAN make a difference! An alliance of disability organisations got together to campaign against the cut in the mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance, Led by Royal Mencap WE WON! In December the Government announced that the Mobility Allowance was not going to be cut. So we can make a difference if we speak out! We should also state that some members of SWM approached our member of parliament the Rt.Hon. John Glen M.P. and he agreed with us that cutting the mobility allowance for those in residential care was unfair and he worked in the background to help get this change of thinking by the Government.
