People and Places - The Community Portal. Bringing people together online and supporting local and regional communities with needs

A meeting in Devizes in July was shown a very interesting demonstration of a new kind of website that uses pictures, videoclips and sound as well as words to allow people with learning disabilities to plan their life, keep their diaries, talk to friends on line and express their views. The People and Places system, already in use in several local authorities, can be a great help in ensuring person centred planning really happens as well as helping people develop their social life and skills.
