An update on the Five Rivers Community campus

Wiltshire Council Cabinet has now approved the outline plans to create a new Community Campus at the Five Rivers Leisure Centre site. There will be a new building to include the learning disability day service (who will move from Wyndham Road), the youth service and the young people’s music centre Bass Connections (who will move from Grosvenor House and Wilton Road). There may also be an expansion of existing leisure centre facilities.

The new campus will be planned and run by a new Community Operations Board and Patricia Fagan of Elizabeth House represents learning disability on this Board.
The new campus will be multipurpose and for the whole community: naturally we in the learning disability field are keen to see the needs of our people are fully met.
There is to be a questionnaire asking for people’s views, probably in early February: South Wilts Mencap will help circulate this and we want to ask everyone to make sure they reply so that our views are heard.
