SHOUT - THE OPENING OF THE SALISBURY FESTIVAL
27TH MAY 2006:
After months of hard work by 150 young people with disabilities and learning
disabilities making their banners for the big opening day of the Salisbury
Festival in the Cathedral Close on 27th May 2006 it was a pity that the
weather could not have been a little better. Nevertheless it was a
magnificent occasion with the sun breaking through for very short spells.
Organised by Alex Grant of Toozalii it was a great spectacular event and
there is no way of conveying the sound of the choir, the drums, the banners
(all 319 of them) blown by the wind and the sense of awe. It is best to let
the pictures speak for themselves.
