St John Singers at St Martins Church:

On 11th July 2009 at St Martins Church, the St John singers gave a recital in support of South Wilts Mencap. They gave a superb performance of "Hear my Prayer", Five Negro Spirituals and the Te Deum before the Interval when we all had some wine or soft drink and a finger buffet. Richard Morgan, President of South Wilts Mencap Richard Morgan, our President, gave a stirring address after the Interval and thanked everyone who had contributed to the evening to make it such a success. In particular he thanked the audience for coming and for supporting South Wilts Mencap in the work they do for people with learning disabilities
In the second part of the concert we were treated to Malcolm Arnolds "Requiem". John Powell conducted the St John Singers throughout the evening. THe St John Singers
Taking a bow After the recital all the performers took a bow and received a great ovation from the audience.
Presentations were made to the soloists - Lucy Bradwell, Lorraine Blakey, Samantha Verschueren and Robert Blakey. Timothy Hone, the Organist at St. Martin's, also received applause as he had very kindly stepped in after David Coram had to withdraw due to a motor accident involving his wife.  The soloists

We would like to thank  the St John Singers and the The Rector and Church Wardens of St Martin's Church, Salisbury for giving us such a great evening.
