South Wilts Mencap Holiday Caravan:

A high quality holiday caravan, with disabled access, is available to let. The caravan is set within a peaceful site overlooking the Dorset coast at Swanage.

The Caravan:
The caravan is exceptionally well equipped with two double bedrooms and sleeping accommodation for two more people in the dining area. It is very suitable for people with disabilities with a ramp to the entrance, although this is NOT suitable for use with heavy electric wheelchairs. The shower room and toilet are large enough for wheelchair access. It is equipped with a gas cooker, microwave, fridge, gas fire and colour TV with DVD and VCR. Duvets, pillows, cutlery and crockery are provided – visitors are asked to bring their own sheets/duvet covers, pillowcases, towels and tea towels.

Please note that for health reasons (many of our clients suffer with allergies) pets and smoking are absolutely not allowed in the caravan.

The Site:

It is tree lined and well laid out, 15 minutes walk from the main beach and town centre of Swanage, which is set among the Purbeck Hills, with lovely views in all directions. On site there is a general store, laundry room with washing, drying and ironing facilities, office and reception, public phone and recreation area.

Getting there

Swanage
is a lively seaside town with safe sandy beaches and a wide range of activities for people of all ages available close at hand. The area has one of the best sunshine records in Britain. Major holiday resorts pf Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth are within very easy reach. Outings to see the picture villages of Dorset, the picturesque ruins of Corfe Castle and the dramatic scenery of Lulworth Cove are easily arranged.

Booking Periods:
Booking does not open until the second week in January 2007.
Bookings are taken for one week only during peak period (school holidays) but can be for week-ends or short mid-week breaks outside high season.
