We organise holidays and outings for adults with learning disabilities. We place special emphasis on those people who live at home or independently in the community. A committee including carers and service users decides on the programme of holidays and outings to be offered each year.

On holidays we aim to ensure clients go on the holiday of their choice with individual care support. Holidays are led by an experienced and qualified care worker with a mix of paid and volunteer support workers. South Wilts Mencap sponsors the expenses for the care support workers.

We also offer a number of outings to shows and tourist attractions each year, usually at a subsidised rate.

Clients are usually expected to pay for their own holiday or outing but in case of need may apply to South Wilts Mencap for a grant.

We need volunteers to assist on Caravan Holidays for which all cost is found whilst time away plus some expenses so if you have a sense of humour and stamina for a week away please contact Faith Walker on 01980 623941.
