Recent Initiatives:

• Our new outreach worker based at Carers Support is providing information, advice and support to families.
• We are leading a partnership of several organisations to improve access to employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities in Salisbury District.
• We are working with Salisbury District Council developing sports provision for people with disabilities.
• We are working with Social Services to provide holidays and leisure opportunities.
• We are leading a local project finding ways to support older families of people with learning disablities.
• We are supporting the development of a local self advocacy project helping people with learning disabilities to speak out for themselves.
• We have played a key role in developing the Salisbury Fit Club for people with disabilities and this is now being extended to Tisbury as part of the South Wiltshire Healthy Living Centre.
• We are working on Disability awareness with Salisbury District Hospital and the police.
• We are teaming up with Carer's Support Salisbury to offer support and training to people caring for a child or adult with learning disabilities.
