After
nearly 40 years the South Wilts Mencap Caravan Service came to an end at the
close
of the 2008 season. Our thanks are due to Caravan Organiser Angela Jay who
has supported this service so magnificently for so many years. The service
is in part being replaced by the Breakaway programme listed elsewhere in
this website, which organises a wide variety of holidays and outings.
For those people still looking for a
traditional and nearby seaside holiday we would suggest contacting Salisbury
Mothers’ Union holiday hotel in the Isle of Wight on 01725 552608 ,
or their caravan at Durdle Door, Lulworth in Dorset contact 01258 858469.
Application for use of these facilities is available to anyone who could not
normally be able to afford a holiday.
Additionally the Scouts Association has
caravans in various UK locations to provide affordable holidays. Contact
