Carers Emergency Card Scheme:

This scheme is designed to give people who care for others who depend on them peace of mind. Carers are encouraged to register with the Department of Community Services. Carers and are then issued with a Carers Emergency Card, which contains a unique PIN number and the phone number of the Carers Emergency Scheme The Card is credit card size, to fit into a wallet or purse. In the event of an accident or emergency the emergency services will then be alerted to the fact that there is someone dependent on that person who may need help.
