Ellingham Water Ski Club (member of British Disabled
Water Ski Association BDWSA) are one of only three UK sites that actively
encourage water skiing for the disabled. On the first Saturday of the month
(May through to September) they run a ‘Beginners Day ‘ for the disabled.
They try and cater for just about every type of physical and mental
disability ranging from quadrapledure (total paralysis) through sight
impairment to learning difficulties. They meet at Ellingham Lake just
outside Ringwood.
On the first Saturday of every month during the summer, the whole day is
dedicated to disabled skiing for novice and beginner skiers and it’s a
perfect opportunity for new and existing skiers to come along and ski and
make friends. There are also a number of sessions on Tuesdays during the
summer months.
