Exeter House Special School:
A Wiltshire County Council Special School catering for children with severe and multiple learning difficulties.
Children are admitted to the school following an assessment procedure as laid down in the 1981 Education Act. The team of teachers, teaching assistants and support staff look after the educational development and physical needs of the children. Visiting physiotherapists and speech therapists provide further support.
As part of its integration policy the school has links with other schools, an active programme of out of school activities, community links and residential visits, including trips overseas. Older children undertake work experience at placements across the City.
The School is in purpose built premises, alongside Wyndham Park Infants and St Marks Junior School. Specialist facilities include science, design technology, food technology, an interactive sensory room, hydrotherapy pool and jacuzzi.
