A person with a learning disability has impaired intellectual ability. They may experience difficulty with everyday activities such as household tasks, socialising or managing money. A learning disability affects someone for their whole life.

Learning disabilities range from ‘mild’ to ‘profound complex and multiple’. Just like anyone else, people with learning disabilities may have other conditions – physical and/or sensory impairment, autism and/or mental health problems.
