Robin was appointed Chair of Trustees in 2022. A former Army Officer he has been closely involved with the local Learning Disabled community since moving to Salisbury in 2001. He works in London as a business consultant and has been a Trustee at South Wilts Mencap since 2013, serving as Treasurer from 2013 to 2016.
As Chair of Trustees, Robin is responsible for helping and encouraging the board of trustees to set the strategic direction for the Society, oversee the successful delivery of appropriate services and activities, and to ensure that the Society remains relevant for its members, whilst at the same time operating within the ever changing regulatory and compliance environment of the charity sector. He also has a secondary role as a director of 16 Catherine Street Ltd in which he supports the managing director and managers of the Society’s charity shop.
